Joomla Setup Part 1: The Speedy Gonzales Methodor how to set up your Joomla! development package in one rush
As more experience you gain with Joomla!, the more complex your
standard Joomla! setup will get.
By time you will have collected a "core-package" of modules,
components and extensions you use with every Joomla! website
you create and setting everything up will get a more and more time
consuming job.
So .. it's about time to change that!
Building your Core-Package
OK, what we basically are going to do is very simple and this will stay a very small tutorial.
The main idea is straight forward: Build a core-installation, make a backup of it and use that
whenever you need a new setup. Sounds easy and simple? It is!
First you'll do what you always do.
Get the latest Joomla! version and collect the latest versions of your chosen components and
extensions. Set everything up and configure to your standards. This is your core-package.
And here comes the Trickt - Tadaaaaa!
In case you have not installed Akeeba Backup or some similar backup component by now, get
Akeeba Backup and install it.
Now create a backup of your core-package.
If you now meed to setup a new Joomla! project, just set up the database and use this
backup and you'll be completely done for building your templates or whatever you have in mind.
That was easy .. wasn't it?
